The Cutlerville Chamber of Commerce had a vision in 2003 to help give the Division Avenue corridor a face lift to lure new business and clientele to the area. When it was discovered that the Kent County Road Commission planned to rebuild Division Avenue in 2006 and 2007, the Chamber went to work. They hired a design landscape architect, RJM Inc., and developed plans to improve the streetscape to accomplish their goal.
With the help of Gaines Charter Township and Byron Township, in conjunction with the Kent County Road Commission, they applied for and received a grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation to pay for ½ of the streetscape costs. The remainder came from the townships and the Chamber. Phase I of the project is complete, and Phase II is being installed right now.
Even with the MDOT grant, the cost is high for the townships. The Chamber has already donated the original architectural costs and $10,000 toward the project, and is hoping to donate $15,000 more this year. There is still an opportunity for you to join in to improve and invigorate the Division Avenue business district. The Chamber is selling bricks, benches, trees and planters to raise the funds necessary for this project. Bricks will be imprinted with your name or slogan for as little as $75 or you can sponsor a large brick for $200, a tree for $600, a planter for $1,000 or a bench for $2,000. Donors will be listed on a plaque to be displayed on the item donated or at the M-6 trailhead park on Division Avenue. Your donation is fully deductible when checks are made payable to “Vision for Division”. Be a part of history and join in the re-vitalization of our Division Avenue business district.

Cutlerville Chamber History
The Cutlerville Chamber of Commerce was officially organized in April of 2000, but its roots go back much farther than that. For more than 30 years previous, local business owners had met monthly as the Cutlerville Business Men’s Association; later becoming the Cutlerville Business Association. The focus was on making Cutlerville a better place to live and do business. Some of the local business men banded together to help restore Cutler Park around the time of the nation’s Bicentennial. Other efforts included community Christmas Decorations and help with the Cutlerville Day’s celebration and activities. Click here for more...
